As mediáticas “mãos criminosas dos incendiários" e algumas das “lições dos fogos florestais de 2005”, em álbum fotográfico: contributo para a desmistificação dos incêndios florestais em Portugal

Abstract

O ano de 2005, o segundo de pior memória em termos de incêndios florestais, foi pródigo em notícias que, frequentemente, deturparam a veracidade dos factos. Com o objectivo de contrariar essa tendência e de revelar algumas das facetas menos conhecidas dos incêndios florestais, tecem-se algumas considerações gerais sobre quatro dos aspectos analisados, embora qualquer um deles possa vir a merecer investigação mais aprofundada no futuro. Houve a preocupação de deixar claramente documentadas através de imagens a generalidade das situações descritas, razão pela qual a ilustração é mais abundante do que habitualmente.

In terms of forest fires 2005 was the worse year of all the years on record, this was the origin of numerous news wich frequently falsify the real situation. To oppose this trend and to disclose some aspects less well known of the problem of forest fire, this article examines in general terms, four the analyzed aspects, although each one of them could be the object of a deeper study in the future. Our intention was to illustrate by images all the situations described. For that reason pictures are far more abundant then usual.
