Três teses sobre a Ucronia e a Floresta Utópica: a propósito do Integralismo Lusitano

Abstract

Típico movimento de intelectuais do início do século (conceito que se tenta precisar), no qual, originariamente confluíram influências do simbolismo, do positivismo de direita e do acratismo finissecular, conjugadas com a influência do pensamento tradicionalista e da Action Française de Maurras, o Integralismo Lusitano (1914-38) propôs um combate político e cultural definidor do campo antiprogressista e reaccionário, cuja herança matriz, no fundamental, permaneceu na "cultura da direita", antidemocrática e autoritária, em Portugal, durante mais de meio século. Neste artigo tenta-se compreender os segmentos mais significativos do pensamento antiutópico do reaccionarismo integral, colocado na encruzilhada entre Modernidade e antimodemidade, difícil encruzilhada na qual se encontrava a própria sociedade portuguesa.

The typical intellectual movement of the early century (a concept which we seek to specify), Portuguese Integralism (Integralismo Lusitano) (1914-38), which initially received influence from symbolism, right-wing positivism and late century anarchy (acratismo fissecular), associated with the influence of traditionalist thought and the Action Française of Maurras, suggested a political and cultural combat, defining the anti- -progressive and reactionary field, of which the fundaments remained, in Portugal, in the "right-wing culture", anti-democratic and authoritarian for over half a century. This paper aims to explain the most meaningful segments of anti- -utopian thought of integral reactionism (reaccionarismo integral), on the crossing between Modernity and anti-modernity, where Portuguese society itself was to be found.
