Entre o logos do poeta e o logos do orador: maneiras trágicas de argumentar em Ésquilo e Antifonte

Abstract

É no contexto dos crimes praticados por Clitemnestra para vingar o assassinato de Ifigênia que iremos sublinhar as relações entre a intencionalidade das ações e a livre deliberação. Também iremos apontar algumas afinidades que aproximam a habilidade retórica da rainha esquiliana com os eloquentes oradores dos discursos de Antifonte. Deste modo, pretendemos mostrar que tanto o poeta quanto o filósofo colocam em questão o problema da intencionalidade dos crimes de sangue ao explicitarem através da capacidade discursiva e dialógica dos seus oradores a tensão existente entre a velha práxis da vingança e os novos códigos da legislação draconiana.

It is in the context of the crimes practiced by Clytemnestra to avenge the murder of Iphigenia that we will underline the relations between the intentionality of actions and free deliberation. We will also point out some affinities that approximate the rhetorical skill of the Esquilian queen with the eloquent speakers of the discourses of Antiphon. In this way, we intend to show that both the poet and the philosopher call into question the problem of the intentionality of blood crimes by explaining through the discursive and dialogical capacity of their orators the tension between the old praxis of revenge and the new codes of draconian legislation.
