Title: | A difícil busca da eudaimonía entre nómos e phýsis em Aves de Aristófanes | Other Titles: | The difficult search for eudaimonía between nómos and phýsis in Aristophanes’ Birds | Authors: | Silva, Maria de Fátima | Issue Date: | 2019 | Publisher: | Imprensa da Universidade de Coimbra | Journal: | http://hdl.handle.net/10316.2/47642 | Abstract: | O desencanto que dois Atenienses – Pisetero e Evélpides – manifestam, em
No entanto,
The disappointment felt by two Athenians – Peiseterus and Evelpides –, in Aristophanes’ Birds, forces them, as a last solution, to exile, running away from the urban defects existent in their own city. But their purpose will be changed along with their adventure. They begin by looking for a genuine phýsis, able to free them from the vices of nomos, but then they progress to a reform of the model of city they are accustomed to, in order to obtain, as a guarantee of happiness, a desirable harmony between phýsis and nómos. This happens in a paradigmatic, ideal city, Nephelokokkygia. |
