Abstract

A adscrição dos habitantes de Pax Iulia à tribo Galeria testemunha a deductio da colònia por parte de Octaviano. Não obstante, outros argumentos, tais como o nome Pax — atribuído a outras duas colónias (sob a forma Pacensis) após a batalha de Actium — e a cunhagem de moeda comemorativa da deductio, levam-nos a atribuí-la ao período que medeia entre 31 e 27 a.C..

The foundation of Pax Iulia by Octavian is supported by the assignment of the coloni to the Galeria tribe. However, numismatic evidence, as well as the name Pojc gives us a more precise chronology. In fact, the scarce coinage minted between 31 and 27 BG by Pax Iulia might commemorate this deductio. In the same period other two colonies received the title Pacensis, never again assigned to any other Roman city.
