The reading of the epitaph CIL II 5171, IG XIV 2542, from Tavira - Southern Portugal - is here reviewed. An examination of the epigraphic as well as the onomastic and iconographie formulas bring sufficient objective elements to light to suggest that we are dealing with a Paleo-Christian family recently settled in the pagan enviroment of this far corner of the Iberian Peninsula.
