Panateneias fora de Atenas

Abstract

The Panathenaea was a festival related to the cult of the goddess Athena organized on the important local references in the region of the Attica, which marked this festival during most part of its experience. However, since Hellenistic period that local references divided space with an enlargement of the meanings of the festival, in many ways, including a creation of Panathenaea outside the city of Athens. This paper presents the debate about the process that structured this new experience of the Panathenaea as a Mediterranean phenomenon in the Hellenistic and Roman times.

As Panateneias eram um festival relacionado ao culto da deusa Atena organizados no seio de importantes referências locais na região da Ática, o que marcou esse festival durante boa parte de sua experiência. Entretanto, a partir do período helenístico, as referências locais passaram a dividir espaço com uma ampliação de sentidos do festival, o que se materializou de várias formas, inclusive a criação de Panateneias fora da cidade de Atenas. Este texto apresenta uma discussão sobre o processo que organizou essa nova experiência das Panateneias como um fenômeno mediterrânico entre os períodos helenístico e romano.
