Do iberismo ao hispano-americanismo

Abstract

Assuming the perspective of Conceptual History, we intend to further understand the Iberisms and their metamorphoses in a transnational and cross-cultural framework marked by the process of globalization, from mid-nineteen century to the third decade of the 20th century. We therefore need to investigate the successors of Iberisms, such as the pan-Hispanism and the Hispano-Americanism. The meaning attached to these positions has changed widely, depending on the cultural fields in which they took root, their doctrinal trends and their relationships with tradition and modernity.

Numa perspetiva de história conceptual, pretende-se contribuir para a compreensão dos iberismos e das suas metamorfoses num quadro transnacional e transcultural marcado pelo processo de mundialização, de meados do século XIX aos anos 30 do século XX. Necessária é pois uma indagação sobre sucedâneos dos iberismos como o pan-hispanismo e o hispano-americanismo. O significado destas orientações foi muito variado, consoante as áreas culturais em que se afirmaram, as tendências doutrinárias e as relações com tradição e modernidade.
