dc.description.abstract | In this paper, I offer a new (dialetheic) interpretation of Plato’s Parmenides. The key idea is to take the last speech of the dialogue seriously. The forms indeed have contradictory properties. Defending this idea is what Plato is up to in the second half of the dialogue. And, suitably fleshed out, the idea can be used to answer the objections that Parmenides brings against the theory of forms in the first part. | eng |
