Da centralidade política da arte no século XX português

Abstract

A centralidade política da arte instalou-se na cena cultural portuguesa com a grande reordenação de 1933 e assim vai permanecer, para além de todas as transformações por que passam as noções de arte e de política. É a bagagem conceptual produzida desde os anos 30 - relida, recontextualizada, por vezes mesmo negada - que vai alimentar, à maneira de princípios estruturantes, as problemáticas das décadas de 50 e 60 e ficar disponível, com as actualizações necessárias, para os artistas dos anos 70 e seguintes, com o trabalho artístico e a reflexão ensaística centrados num velho e renovado problema: quais as formas adequadas ao restabelecimento de ligações com o real? Este artigo consagra-se, sobretudo, ao modo de instituição de uma problemática.

The political centrality of art was installed in the Portuguese cultural scene with the reordering of 1933 and so it will remain, beyond all transformations occurred in notions such as "art" and "politics". It is the cultural background produced from the 30's - reread, recontextualized, sometimes even denied - that will nourish, as if structural principles, the issues of de decades of 50 and 60 and will be available, with the required actualizations, to the artists of the 70's and next decades, with the artistic work and the essay istic meditation centered in an old and renewed problem: what forms are adequate to the reestablishment of the connection with the real? This article focus, above all, on the institutionalizing of a problem.
