In Plautus’ Amphitruo, the slave Bromia assumes the important task of telling facts that her master hasn’t been able to see. Some centuries later, the servant Tésala in Timoneda’s Amphitrión can be considered more than a messenger, without loosing Plautus’ influence. We think that the alteration of this character can be explained not only by Timoneda’s personality but also and mainly by the transmission of the text and its presence in Spain.eng
