O tesouro romano-republicano do casal Ascenso Antunes (Ferreira do Zêzere, Santarém, Portugal)

Abstract

Descoberto ocasionalmente em 2008 à beira das águas da albufeira de Castelo do Bode, este conjunto monetário composto presentemente por 15 denários romano-republicanos vem engrossar o lote dos achados localizados na fachada litoral entre o Tejo e o Douro, ao que tudo indica ocultados durante as guerras sertorianas ou nos anos subsequentes.

This coin hoard, actually formed by 15 denarii of the Roman Republic, appears to have been occasionally found in 2008, in the shores of the Castelo de Bode dam. We admit its inclusion in the group of the hoards buried in the Portuguese coastline area, between the rivers Tejo and Douro, during the Sertorian Wars (82-72 a.C.) or in the following years.
