Title: | A imagem de Otaviano nas Filípicas de Cícero | Authors: | Scatolin, Adriano | Keywords: | Cicero;Octavian;Mark Antony;Phillippics;Cícero;Otaviano;Marco Antônio;Filípicas | Issue Date: | 2015 | Publisher: | Imprensa da Universidade de Coimbra | Journal: | http://hdl.handle.net/10316.2/38208 | Abstract: | This paper analyses the strategies used by Cicero in his Philippics in order to tackle the difficulties he faced by taking on Octavian’s cause against Antony in the senate. Such difficulties consist in young Caesar’s young age (he was 19 in 44‑43 BC), in the name Octavian inherited from Julius Caesar and its possible implications and in the legality of the former’s military actions. |
