This paper aims to clarify some Asturian ethnonyms which have remained hitherto inadequately understood. These are the ZOELAE and two tribes belonging to this group, the Desonci and the Tridiavi. A thorough etymological approach reveals a very ancient lexical affinity of these names with the Italic languages. |
