cultural da cidade de Mindelo,
entre 1932 e 1939, em torno
do movimento associativo Os
Falcões Portugueses de Cabo
Verde, inspirado no ideário
e na coreografia dos Sokols
[Falcões] da Checoslováquia.
A recriação dos itinerários dos
Sokols na cidade colonial é
guiada pela narrativa ficcional
“Capitão de Mar e Terra”,
de Henrique Teixeira de
Sousa, num confronto crítico
com as fontes documentais.
Problematiza-se o resgate
da história pela narrativa
ficcional e histórica. Não
obstante a liberdade discursiva
do romance e a incompletude
das fontes conclui-se que os
Sokols seduziram a “cidade do
The paper analyses the cultural environment in the city of Mindelo, between 1932 and 1939, and the associative movement of the Portuguese Falcons of Cape Verde, inspired by the ideologies and choreography of the Sokols [Falcons] of Czechoslovakia. The itineraries of the Sokols in the colonial city are recreated on the basis of the fictional narrative “Capitão de Mar e Terra”, by Henrique Teixeira de Sousa, by comparing documental sources. The rescue of History by the fictional and historic narrative is discussed. Notwithstanding the discursive freedom of the romance and the incompleteness of the sources, one concludes that Sokols seduced the ‘city of Porto Grande’ with paramilitary imagery and the support of ‘freedom within order’. |
