Title: | Dois epigramas atribuídos a André de Resende | Other Titles: | Two epigrams attributed to André de Resende | Authors: | Ramalho, A. Costa | Issue Date: | 2004 | Publisher: | Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra, Instituto de Estudos Clássicos | Abstract: | In his book André de Resende’s Poemata Latina/Latin Poems, Prof. John Martyn presents the XVIth century Portuguese humanist as the author of two epigrams which do not belong to him. The first epigram is about the behaviour of Vittoria Colonna, marchioness of Pescara, compared with that of Porcia, Brutus’ wife, on the death of their husbands. The second one is the well-known epigram De Roma published by Ianus Vitalis in his Elogia in 1553. The present writer states his reasons for not crediting André de Resende with the authorship of the first poem and for keeping Vitalis as the author of the second. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10316.2/28081 | ISSN: | 2183-1718 |
