In Losey's film the mythological figure of Icarus is present in order to resolve the enigma of the argument; in Pinto, however, the figure of Hippolytus is present with the aim of solving his own enigma about a dead children. From the interpretations of J. P. Vernant, we can consider that, according to Classical Mythology, both films reflect different perceptions about the idea of mortality for human beings, in one hand, and for gods, on the other hand. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10316.2/28037 | ISSN: | 2183-1718 |
